It has definitely been
some time since my last post as life has been keeping me busy. There are many life events and societal
issues that I must discuss. We’ll start in chronological order and just hit
each topic as it approaches.
Who knew that adulthood
would be so busy and time-consuming?
Well, it has been that way for some time for my husband and I as we were
on our quests for higher education (many of you may know this because we couldn’t
be friends during this time LOL). In May of this year, we celebrated the end of
school and the start of new beginnings.
We had a double graduation gathering as Roswell completed his Masters of
Divinity and I finished my Masters of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner!
We celebrated at Sage
Woodfire Tavern with our family and friends. Thank you to everyone who came out
to celebrate with you and to those who send cards and well wishes! We are done…for real!
Roswell and I celebrated
together with a trip to Cancun, Mexico. It was very exciting and
eye-opening. The resort was beautiful,
the food was good, but interesting and the scenery was breath-taking. After spending a day or so confined to the
resort simply enjoying its beauty, we decided to venture outside of the resort
areas and immerse ourselves in the local scene.
We traveled using the local buses. FYI…there is obviously no speed limit
or large passenger regulations as these buses drive so wild and so fast. You
practically have to tuck and roll to exit!
We
had a great time exploring the city, shopping, eating, and just being
together. In attempts to expand our
knowledge of the culture, we decided to take a bus tour of the famous ruins of Chichén
Itzá. Long story short, it’s one of the most visited places in Mexico and one
of the Seven Wonders of the World. We
were supposed to also go swimming in the underground caves. WELL, this wasn’t so funny at the time, but
now it’s hilarious. We had a great time exploring and learning, but on the way
back, our bus broke down. This is after
already having to switch buses earlier at a snack shop. So we sat in the heat of Mexico, in the dark
for hours until they brought us another bus. People on the bus were from
various places and they were nutting up. I just prayed that the Mexican cartel
wouldn’t get us and slept in the arms of my husband. Good times. Great laughs!
